The internationally recognised Green Flag Award is the benchmark for well-managed parks and green spaces, celebrating outstanding environmental management, biodiversity, accessibility, and community engagement.
This year’s results include several new Green Flag Awards alongside the successful retention of existing accreditations, highlighting idverde’s ongoing commitment to creating high-quality public spaces.
New Green Flag Awards.
The following sites have received a Green Flag Award for the first time:
- Dothill and Shawbirch Local Nature Reserve
- Hartshill Park
- Dale End Park
- Dawley Park
These awards recognise the quality of the parks’ management, maintenance, and visitor experience, reflecting the dedication of the teams responsible for their care.
Retaining recognised excellence.
idverde has also retained Green Flag Awards for several established parks and green spaces:
- Telford Town Park
- Bowring Park
- Apley Woods Local Nature Reserve
- Queen’s Park
- Jephson Gardens
- Small Jephson Gardens
These sites will continue to be assessed through ongoing Green Flag monitoring to ensure they maintain the award’s high standards.
In addition, Bramshall Park and Stapenhill Gardens once again met the rigorous Green Flag criteria. Positive feedback from judges recognised the strong collaboration between idverde, East Staffordshire Borough Council, and local community partners in maintaining these valued public spaces.
Community Green Flag recognition.
The Forest Road Green Belt has also retained its Community Green Flag Award for 2024–2025.
Following judging earlier in the year, the site was praised for the successful partnership between the local authority, idverde, Serco, and community volunteers. The collaborative approach to managing the space continues to deliver high-quality outcomes for both residents and the local environment.
Recognition in West Northamptonshire.
Further success came in West Northamptonshire, where Bradlaugh Fields and Abington Park, managed in partnership with West Northamptonshire Council, were also recognised with Green Flag Awards.
These achievements reflect the continued commitment of local teams and partners to creating attractive, accessible, and welcoming parks for communities to enjoy.
